Topics of Interest

The Dickies Dodge: Effective at Homestead Miami Speedway the No. 18 truck will be sponsored solely by Williamson Dickie Manufacturing Company. The truck will carry the same blue and red paint job at the final race of the year that it will carry for the entire 2003 season.

"We're very happy to have Dickies on board with our team for next year," said Bobby Hamilton, team owner. "They have been very good to work with this year and we are looking for some big things next year. There are still some questions that have to be answered over the winter but we have a plan and our competitors' better look over their shoulder."

The No. 18 Dickies Dodge team with Robert Pressley driving enters the last race of the year in the seventh position in the points standings by one point over the eighth place team so the last race will be filled with drama for the team as they try and hold on to the spot.

Past History: Last year the Homestead race was at the beginning of the season. Joe Ruttman drove the No. 18 Dodge to a ninth place finish after starting from the fifth position.

Homestead Miami Speedway was also the site of the very first race for Bobby Hamilton Racing in 1999. On that day the team with driver Butch Miller also finished in the ninth position.

Earnings: When Pressley takes the green flag to start the Ford 200 event he will surpass the $ 400,000 mark in career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series earnings.

Testing: Pressley tested a NASCAR Winston Cup car at the Homestead Miami Speedway last week in hope of running the race on Sunday. Unfortunately, those plans were scraped earlier in the week.
"We were hoping to run the Cup race but things just did not work out," said Pressley. "We tested the car, but we just did not think it was a good idea to try and make the race. We just did not have enough time to work on the car."

Championship Hunt: With one race remaining in the 2002 season, there are three teams that can win the NASCAR Truck Series Championship.

This Week's Truck: Pressley will be racing "Angel" at Homestead Miami Speedway. Angel won at Michigan earlier this season, and in 2001 at Pikes Peak International Raceway with Ruttman. The truck also had 11 starts in 2001, resulting in three top five and eight top ten finishes.
