Topics of Interest

New Place: When Robert Pressley began his NASCAR Truck Series career earlier
this year in Daytona, there was a lot of unknowns, and Memphis Motorsports
Park was one of them. Pressley has raced just about everywhere in his long
career, but never at the three quarter mile Speedway in Memphis.

"Memphis is one of the tracks that I've never been to, so I'll be relying on Bobby Hamilton Racing to help me learn it quick," said Pressley. "Bobby's (Hamilton) teams always seem to run well at this place so I feel pretty good about coming here. He told me the other week that it's like a little Richmond (International Raceway). But it's a little faster. He said I'd love driving the place so time will only tell."

Over the last two years, Bobby Hamilton Racing has put one of their trucks on the front row for the O'Reilly's 200. In 2000, owner Bobby Hamilton started on the pole, but finished 29th after the engine failed. In 2001, Joe Ruttman started the event from the outside of the front row and recorded a third place finish.

"There's a little pressure to start and finish up front here at Memphis, but I'm putting pressure on myself, more than the team is putting pressure on me," said Pressley. "Like everyone else in this series, we want to win every race. So, really the only pressure we have is what we put on ourselves.  "Pressley and the No. 18 Bobby Hamilton Racing Team have climbed back into contention after falling to 12th place in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points standings two races ago. After last week's sixth place finish, the team moved to 6th place in the points standings, just four points behind fifth place, Jason Leffler.

"We still have some ground to make up over the next few weeks, but this stretch of races over the summer will help separate the contenders from the pretenders," said Pressley."

Crew Chief in Memphis: Todd Myers will service as crew chief on the No. 18
Bobby Hamilton Racing Dodge again this week, at Memphis Motorsports Park. In
the group's first outing at Texas Motor Speedway, Pressley started in the third position and finished a strong sixth place.

"Todd (Myers) was a big help in Texas," said Pressley. "He came in on short notice, and helped us get a solid finish. Hopefully with a little more time to prepare for Memphis we'll have a better result."

This Week's Truck: Pressley will be driving "Angel" this week at Memphis
Motorsports Park. It is the same truck that won last year's event at Pikes Peak with Joe Ruttman behind the wheel.

Pressley Quotes
"We're on a little bit of a role the last two races, but we need to win a race or two over the next couple of weeks. That way our competitors know we're still here, and a team to beat for that title."
