Topics of Interest

Going for Another Strong Showing: Bill Lester looked to be heading for a top
five finish at Daytona Speedway with seven laps to go, and then he was
crashed out of contention by several other trucks that had trouble on the
back straightaway.

"Everyone keeps telling me how great the week was and how great we ran,
but I can't help but be a little disappointed," said Lester.  "I'm a
competitor, and if I was happy with just running good then I would have no
business being in this truck.  I really thought the guys and I on the No. 8
Dodge had a shot at the win.  So to get crashed out at the end, regardless of the strong run, is just a little upsetting.  The one thing I can say is I was
happy with just how well the truck drove and what I learned about the guys on Bobby Hamilton Racing's team.  They are the best team in the series as far as I'm concerned."

Unlike Daytona Speedway, where Lester had run sports car before, this

will be his first time at Darlington Raceway.

"This will be interesting," said Lester.  "I've heard a lot of things

about this place.  The lady in black, the track too tough to tame and a few
others I can't say. So to say there is some anxiety about this place, but at
least I will have a few guys to watch and learn from between Robert
(Pressley) and Bobby (Hamilton)."

Rookie of the Year:
After the first race of the year, Lester is third in the Rookie of the Year standings, but there is a long way to go.

"I'm not too worried this early on, but it would have been nice to pick

up the top rookie honor at Daytona," said Lester.  "We're going to get a
bunch of those honors during the year, so it will all work out."

This Week's Truck: Lester will most likely be driving "Rocket" at Darlington
Raceway.  But the team is also taking a new truck to the racetrack for the
open test day.  The new truck is named "Trix."

75 Races and Counting: The Darlington race will mark the 75th event for Bobby
Hamilton Racing to enter at least one truck in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series race.  During this three-year span, Bobby Hamilton Racing has put
together a tremendous record.  The team has logged eight wins, which puts
them sixth in all-time wins in the series, 14 poles, 29 top five finishes,
and 52 top ten finish.  They also have colleted just under $2 million dollars
in earnings.

During the first three years, there have been many faces that have helped

build Bobby Hamilton Racing, but to date, there are only two employees that
have been to every race for the team.  They are General Manager, Andy Dunlap, who serves as spotter on the No. 18 truck at the races, and Marketing
Director, David Pepper.

Mike Goins, truck driver on the No. 8 Dodge team, has also been with the

team since the beginning, but missed one Truck Series event while helping the
organization to prepare for its first NASCAR Winston Cup Series event in 2000
with Bobby Hamilton, Jr.
