Bobby Hamilton Racing Signs
Sponsorship With Dickies for 2002-2003
After a week of intense negotiation, the Williamson-Dickie
Mfg. Company, maker of authentic DICKIES workwear, has
signed with Bobby Hamilton Racing to sponsor the No. 18
Dodge in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for 2002-2003,
announces WD Vice President of Marketing JON RAGSDALE today.
"We are extremely impressed with the quality of the Bobby
Hamilton Racing organization and the depth of their
commitment to motorsports," says Ragsdale of the major
sponsorship deal. "This is a tremendous opportunity for
Dickies to finish the season on top with a partner that is
as successful in their category as we are in ours."
The No. 18 Dickies Square D Dodge truck will make its
flagship run today in the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at
Indianapolis Raceway Park in Claremont, Indiana, with Robert
Pressley behind the wheel.
For the remaining 2002 season, the Dickies logo will appear
on the rear quarter panels, tailgate TV panel, and the rear
deck area; in 2003, Dickies will be the primary sponsor of
the No. 18 Truck. (The Square D logo will remain on the hood
for the remainder of 2002 season.)
"This is the final piece of the puzzle," says owner Bobby
Hamilton of his team, which is currently in the 7th position
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points standings.
"We're very excited about the future and what our two
companies can do together. Everyone at Dodge and Square D is
fired up about Dickies joining our family. Now we just have
to go out and give them a good show this weekend."
As a critical part of the deal, sturdy Dickies work pants,
shirts and jackets will become the official clothing for the
No. 18, the No. 4 and No. 8 Bobby Hamilton Racing Dodge
Factory Teams.
"NASCAR, Dodge and Bobby Hamilton fit perfectly with Dickies
80-year heritage of outstanding performance," says Ragsdale.
"Our customers work hard for everything they get, and they
always expect our best effort in return. This exciting new
partnership means that the Dickies Racing Team can really
deliver the goods this year, for the many NASCAR fans who
already trust our brand on and off the job."
