Bobby Hamilton Racing Anxious to Get Back to the Race
Track Mount Juliet, Tennessee - After going to victory lane in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and then getting a three-week break, the No. 18 Bobby Hamilton Racing (BHR) Team is ready to get back and continue a great start to the 2002 season. "We're ready to go racing again," said Danny Gill, Crew Chief of the No.18 Dodge Team. "The break was a good thing as far as getting everything in the shop caught up, but now we're getting a little stir crazy, and it's time to get back after this points race and a few more race wins." Robert Pressley and the No. 18 team have been on top of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series points standings for the last month, while the series has been idle. Ironically, Pressley's point lead comes on the heels of his win in his very first Truck Series start, matching Mike Skinner for that honor. "I know every time I call the guys at the shop, they're working hard, but I can tell in their voices that they are ready to get back after it," said Pressley. "I'll be ready to get back racing. It's been a long break since we raced at Daytona. I know the guys have enjoyed the extra time to work on the trucks, but I think they're ready to get back to the race track too." Danny Rollins, Crew Chief on the No. 4 BHR Dodge, echoed Gill's sentiments about being ready to get back to the racetrack and the points race. "Yeah, I'm ready to go racing," said Rollins. "I've talking with Brian (Rose) about Darlington for so long I feel like a broken record. It'll be good to finally get to the track." Rollins and Rose enter the event at Darlington Speedway in the third position in the NASCAR Truck Series points standings, after their solid opening performance in Daytona Beach, Florida. The third team in the Bobby Hamilton Racing stable, the No. 8 Dodge Motorsports Dodge, driven by Bill Lester, has been ready to go since the checker flag fell in Daytona. "We had a tough break at the end of the race that cost us a solid finish after a great run, so we've been ready to get back out there and prove ourselves since February," said Kip McCord, Crew Chief of the No. 8 Dodge. "We know we are going to have some great runs with Bill (Lester) after his performance at Daytona. All the guys on this team have been ecstatic about what the coming year may hold." Lester is one of seven drivers that are registered to compete for the 2002 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year Award. |
