News and Notes:
v The North Carolina native will be making his 16th NASCAR start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He has one Sprint Cup, five Nationwide and nine previous NASCAR Craftsman Truck series starts at the 1.058 mile oval. He has one victory, five top-five and six top-10 finishes in those nine NCTS starts.
v In 1999 Setzer beat Mike Wallace to score his fourth career truck series victory in the Mopar Performance Dodge. He has led 93 laps at NHMS in his nine NCTS starts.
v Setzer will pilot “Viper” on Saturday afternoon. This particular chassis raced last weekend at Gateway International Raceway where Setzer started from the pole and finished second. He also ran it at Bristol Motor Speedway in August and Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May where he scored top-10 finishes in both events. It is the newest chassis in the No. 18 Dodge stable.
v The No. 18 Dodge will be showcasing the AutoServNH.com Dodge paint scheme Saturday afternoon. The AutoServ Dodge dealership was the outstanding sales performer selling more Dodge vehicles than all the surrounding dealerships, thus winning the prize to sponsor Setzer's No. 18 Dodge Ram at New Hampshire.
More than Just Momentum: “You can do a lot of things to make a team better. You can add new people, buy new parts and even change the driver from time to time. But I think the one thing that makes a team better is something you can’t buy. Momentum by far has to be the best ingredient for a winning team. I can be walking through the garage and you will overhear someone say ‘It doesn’t matter what they do …they have momentum on their side.’ It is the one thing you can’t purchase in racing. Despite all the changes that my team has endured the past few weeks we have momentum on our side. In the past five races we have scored four top-10 finishes and winning the pole and finishing second last weekend in Gateway was icing on the cake. I have known all year long this team could do that, but it just takes everything going your way. The team I have right now is the best of the best. I would put them up against any team in this garage on any given day.”
