News and Notes:
- Dennis Setzer made his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start at The Milwaukee Mile in 1995. He qualified second and finished second to winner Mike Skinner.
- The North Carolina native will make his 16th NASCAR start at the famed short track Friday night. He has 11 previous Craftsman Truck Series and four Nationwide Series starts on the one-mile oval. He has scored one win (2005), four top-five and six top-10 finishes in the truck series at Milwaukee.
- Setzer will pilot “Duster” this weekend. He drove this particular chassis to victory earlier this season at Martinsville Speedway.
A Look Back: Since 2004 at least one Bobby Hamilton Racing (BHR) entry has finished in the top 10 at The Milwaukee Mile event.
Setzer on The Milwaukee Mile: “Milwaukee is one of those tracks that is old in age, but still provides some of the best racing you will see all year. Over the years they have done a great job of keeping up with the times by adding lights, more grandstands and keeping the track in stellar condition. Several years ago they changed it from a day race to a night race. I think it was one of the best decisions they ever made. Racing under the lights in Milwaukee reminds me of the old late model days. The flat layout makes for close racing. You can pass a little easier here than you can at fellow short track Mansfield Motorsports Park, but chances are you will still see people being moved out of the way. BHR has had success at Milwaukee and so have I in years past. I am looking forward to our first visit to the track together.”
Dodge’s Newest Hot Rod: “Last weekend while we were in Michigan I got the chance to drive the new Dodge Challenger. I was like a kid in the candy store. I couldn’t help, but chuckle as I drove through the infield. All the race fans were asking me to stop so they could get a look at the car. Many of them were snapping photos with their cell phones. It had tons of power and is a true hot rod. As soon as I turned it in I was asking how I could purchase one for my own garage. I don’t think they are going to be available for a while because they are in such demand right now. Even someone like me who drives for Dodge has to wait in line!”
