Brooklyn, MI . (June 16, 2008) –After posting the eighth fastest overall speed in practice on Friday, Dodge Driver Stacy Compton headed into the Cool City Customs 200 with renewed confidence. Then on Saturday morning he posted the 16th fastest qualifying lap before the event.  Once the race got underway an extremely loose Dodge Ram Truck plagued the team much of the afternoon. After making numerous adjustments to better the No. 4 Suburban Dodge during three separate pit stops, Compton and crew were unable to overcome the loose condition. He finished in the 21st position.

The No. 4 Dodge Ram Race Recap

• Compton qualified 16th on Saturday morning by posting a speed of 173.285 mph.
• Before the drop of the green flag, Compton noticed he was running on only 12 volts. After a quick look under the hood the loose wire was fixed and he maintained his 16th starting position.
• The first caution waved right after the drop of the green flag on lap three for debris. “I am loose everywhere,” said Compton while running in the 12th spot.
• Over the next 15 laps the No. 4 Suburban Dodge fell back to 19th position due to the loose condition. “It is loose all over,” said a frustrated Compton.
• On lap 34 Compton made his way down pit road for a scheduled green flag pit stop. Crew Chief Bryant Frazier called for four tires, fuel, an air pressure and track bar adjustment. He returned to the track in 25th position.
• “It is still loose, but more drivable now,” said Compton on lap 40 while running 24th.  He moved up two more positions just three laps later.
• The second caution waved on lap 46 for debris. “I am still loose on exit,” Compton said when the caution came out. Once again the No. 4 Suburban Dodge hit pit road for service. The Dodge Racing team jumped into action adding fuel and making a wedge and track bar adjustment.  He restarted in 15th.
• “It gets sideways on entry and exit,” said Compton on lap 55 while running in the 16th position. “I can’t even touch the throttle without it wanting to spin,” he said.
• The third caution came out on lap 60 for a spin in turn two. Compton hit pit road for four tires, fuel and another track bar adjustment. After service was completed he returned to the track in 21st spot.
• The final caution waved with six laps left in the event for an accident in turn three. “It is so loose now I can’t even drive it,” said Compton. “I would bring you in for tires, but I don’t think we can get the positions back in only three laps,” said Frazier. After discussing several options back and forth the decision was made not to pit. Compton restarted in the 12th position.
• Just after the restart a group of trucks came charging to Compton’s inside line as he fought the loose No. 4 Suburban Dodge trying to hold them off. He finished the event in 21st position.

Erik Darnell won the Cool City Customs 200. Johnny Benson finished second, Scott Speed, Todd Bodine and Brenden Gaughan followed in the top five.
