 News and Notes:

ƒæ The North Carolina native will make his 12th NASCAR start at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). He has eight previous Craftsman Truck Series and two Nationwide Series starts and one Nextel Cup Series start on the two mile oval. He has scored one win (2005), two top-five and six top-10 finishes in the truck series at MIS.
ƒæ Setzer will pilot ¡§Nitro¡¨ this weekend at Michigan.  He drove this particular chassis last week at Texas Motor Speedway and brought it home in an 11th place finish after falling two laps down early in the race.
ƒæ In 2005 Setzer scored his 13th NCTS victory at MIS after starting the event in 10th position. He went on to score three more victories that season.

Like Father Like Son: ¡§The other day I was eating lunch with several of my crew members. One of them asked me if I would want my son to follow in my foot steps as a race car driver. We had been talking about the pros and cons of the sport and he was wondering if it was something I was willing to push my son toward. Racing has always been good to my family. I have been able to do what I enjoy for a living and make enough money to pay the bills in the process. It has its drawbacks like any job would, but I have always felt the perks outweigh the cons. My son has been racing for a while now. We did the go-kart thing and I recently bought a late model for us to tinker around with. I have taken him testing some, but we have not raced with the car yet. I am impressed with his ability at a young age. However, I don¡¦t want to put too much into it until I know how deep his interest is. Racing is too expensive to have just as a hobby. We have a good time together working on the race car, but I also enjoy watching him play ball just as much. I am thankful he has interests outside of racing. We will wait and see where his interest falls as he gets older. As a Dad I am happy with any path he chooses.¡¨
