No. 18 Tahoe Smokeless Dodge
AAA Insurance 200 at Dover International Speedway
Dover, DE. (June 2, 2008) – Dover International Speedway is not necessarily on Tahoe Smokeless Tobacco Driver Dennis Setzer’s favorite list of tracks to race on. So, he knew he had his worked cut out for him heading into Dover this past weekend. After qualifying in the 30th position Setzer used his veteran driving skills combined with pit strategy to make his way through the field. After going a couple of laps down early in the event due to a very tight race truck he was able to work his way to an 18th place finish, one lap down to the leader.

Setzer qualified in the 30th position Friday morning for the running of the AAA Insurance 200 by posting a speed of 147.771mph.
Just after the start of the race Setzer radioed in to Crew Chief Marcus Richmond, “It is very tight.”
The first caution waved on lap 15 for an accident on the front stretch and Richmond made the call to bring the No. 18 Tahoe Dodge down pit road for service. The Tahoe Smokeless Tobacco Racing Team jumped into action changing right side tires, adding fuel and making a track bar adjustment. He restarted in 31st position.
“It is really pushing,” said Setzer on lap 28 with the race leader charging hard in his rear view mirror. He fell one lap down to the leader 10 laps later while running 27th.
On lap 52 the second caution came out for another accident on the front stretch. Setzer was still complaining of a tight condition so Richmond once again brought him down pit road for service. “Go under the hood and take a round out of both front tires,” coached Richmond as Setzer headed down pit road. “And I want the right front shock closed off.” After the adjustments were made Setzer restarted in the 28th position.
The third caution waved several laps later on lap 65 for an accident in turn two. “We should stay out and try to gain track position, but we cannot afford to do that,” said Richmond. “So come down pit road and we will work on it again.” He restarted in 29th after service was completed on pit road.
The tight condition persisted and on lap 89 Setzer fell two laps down to the leader.
The fourth caution came out on lap 96 due to oil being spilled on the track. Setzer was able to stay out in front of the leader get one of his two laps back. He restarted in 18th spot just one lap down.
By lap 107 the tight condition was improving on the No. 18 Tahoe Smokeless Tobacco Dodge.
The fifth caution waved several laps later on lap 116 for an accident in turn two. Setzer pitted for four tires and fuel under the caution. He restarted in 19th spot.
He ran comfortably in the 18th position while the laps ticked away. The eighth and final caution came out on lap 172 for a wreck in turn three. Setzer made his way down pit road for the last time for four fresh tires and only one can of fuel. He restated in 19th position.
Setzer finished the day in 18th position and moved up one spot to 11th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings.
Rookie Scott Speed won the AAA Insurance 200. Jack Sprague finished second, Ron Hornaday Jr., Travis Kvapil and Matt Crafton followed in the top five.
