Ken Schrader will be making his fourth career NASCAR start at Gateway International Raceway when he pilots the No. 18 Fastenal Dodge on Saturday night. He has one previous NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start and two NASCAR Busch Series starts at his home track.
The Missouri/ Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 will mark Schrader’s 84th NCTS start. In his previous 83 NCTS races, Schrader has an average starting position of 15th and finishing of 17th.
Schrader will pilot “SLIM” this week at Gateway. He has driven this particular chassis in five races this season scoring a third place finish at Mansfield and a fifth place finish at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
Minnesota Flood Hits Close to Home with Sponsor Fastenal: “The Fastenal Company, who serves as the primary sponsor on the No. 18 Dodge Ram, has recently been affected by the horrendous floods in Southeastern Minnesota. The city of Winona, which is the home place for the Fastenal Headquarters, was one of the towns worst hit by the horrific flooding. Many Fastenal employees lost their homes and personal belongings in the recent floods. Heading Home to St. Louis and Racing with Herman: “I am looking forward to this weekend’s race for many reasons. First of all, I get to go home to St. Louis and race in front of my hometown crowd. It always seems no matter what happens on the track you will have a hometown fan out there pulling for you in the stands. Another great thing for me in St. Louis this weekend is racing with my good friend Kenny “Herman” Wallace. Kenny and I have been traveling the country this year racing our dirt cars together and now we’ll have some fun in trucks. It will be a great rivalry in front of our home crowd.”
