Chase Miller on his first trip to Homestead-Miami Speedway: “I am looking forward to racing in the sunny weather. Once again I head to a track that I have never seen before, but I have done my homework. I have heard you can run right next to the yellow line. It has progressive banking, which allows you to run a lane up from the yellow line. They also say you can pass there which makes for some great racing. It usually takes me a couple laps to adapt to the track and then I am good to go.”

Somewhere along the final stretch of the 2006 season Chase Miller picked up a heavy dose of bad luck. For the third straight week in a row Miller found trouble in the opening laps of the event. The Dodge development driver qualified the No. 4 Dodge in the 26th position during his first visit to Phoenix International Raceway. By lap six Miller had worked his way into the 21st position when disaster struck. Veteran competitor Jack Sprague slammed into the back of the No. 4 Dodge sending Miller straight into the wall in turn one.

Chase Miller on his first trip to Phoenix International Raceway: ¡§I have never raced at Phoenix before, but I have experience on similar tracks. I have heard it is a really fun track to race on, but it is unique. It can be tricky and I was told some drivers have a hard time figuring the place out. I sure hope that¡¦s not my case. I was reading the other day it has two very distinct different corners and a dogleg on the back straightaway that is almost a corner in itself. I think it will be necessary to have strong horsepower to run well. Arrington Engines provides for great horsepower and I know my guys are going to give me a great truck. I think some people might be surprised how well we run this weekend.¡¨

Miller started the Silverado 350K at Texas Motor Speedway in 20th position and immediately used the high line to gain positions. Directly in front of him Erik Crocker blew an engine on the first lap causing Miller to hit the wall in turn four. Miller was forced to pit road under the caution for extensive right side damage. Miller restarted in the 34th position and was working his way through traffic when he hit the wall again in turn four, cutting down a right front tire. Miller pitted under green on lap eight resulting in going two laps down to the leader. The right front tire damage plagued the No. 4 Fastenal Dodge team most of the night. Miller would finish the 23rd NCTS event of the season in 30th position.

BHR on Fast Track to Success in 2007
- It was a cool day at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March when Bobby Hamilton announced his intention to step away from driving his No. 18 Fastenal Dodge so he could concentrate on treatment for a cancerous tumor in his neck. Hamilton, the 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion and a four-time winner in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, has spent every year since 1989 as a full-time fixture in the NASCAR community competing as a driver. But for 2006, he would be forced to watch the action unfold from the sidelines rather than the driver's seat.

Take us on a lap around Texas Motor Speedway:
“You go down the front straightaway, and like Charlotte and Atlanta, you take a really wide arch getting into turn one, and of course you’re wide open. The truck just sinks down, and it sinks you into your seat. You don’t realize the speed until you come up out of the corner. It just shoots you out of the corner, and your head just lies back against the seat. Then turns 3 and 4 almost seem flat when you get down in there, but they have a ton of banking. When you go to the very, very bottom of the racetrack, it feels like the bottom of the truck will fall out, and it just feels flat but you’re really on the banking. The truck might wiggle a little bit but it has grip."

Rookie Chase Miller will be making his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday.
Miller on his first trip to Texas Motor Speedway:
“I have never been to Texas Motor Speedway so practice will be valuable to me. I have talked to several drivers in the series and they say it’s a lot like Las Vegas and Atlanta. I qualified well at both of those tracks, but did not have the finishes I hoped for. You always here the ‘third time’s the charm’ and I am hoping that comes true with me this weekend. Our plan was to take our primary from Atlanta to Texas, but that went out the window when I wrecked. I have never raced this chassis before, but my crew chief tells me she is as good as Demon was. I guess we will wait and see.”

Miller slammed the outside wall and then slammed the inside wall before driving the No. 4 Fastenal Dodge down pit road. Miller went behind the wall and the No. 4 Dodge Racing Team worked to repair the rear end damage. He returned to the track on lap 93. 10-09-2006
Dodge Development driver Chase Miller was not sure what to expect as he headed into the inaugural John Deere 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday. Before Wednesday of this week he had never seen Talladega Superspeedway and had no superspeedway experience on his resume. But just like he has in the past few weeks Miller proved his lack of experience was no reflection of his ability behind the wheel of the No. 4 Dodge Motorsports Dodge Ram. Miller qualified in the 13th position for the 19th race of the 2006 season. By lap five Miller had worked his way into the fifth position, but did not stay there long. On lap 10 Miller began to drop to the back of the pack with teammates Bobby Hamilton Jr. and Scott Lagasse Jr. The trio stayed in the back for most of the race in an attempt to avoid the big wreck. With 30 laps left to go in the race Miller made his way towards the front of the pack. Racing three-wide for the final laps Miller crossed the finish line in 21st position.

Was your rookie season last year more challenging than this year or is it the other way around?
This season is more challenging by far. When you are a rookie you deal with a lot of firsts. It’s your first trip to several race tracks, your first time to deal with media and sponsors. This time around I have experience and the expectation level of Timothy Peters is greater. I cannot say “I am a rookie” like I could last year. Now, I am just like everyone else and the expectation level is a lot higher!
