Scott Lagasse, Jr. will be making his first-career start at Mansfield this weekend. Lagasse will be driving the BHR chassis “Butthead” this weekend at Mansfield.  It will be “Butthead’s” 2nd start this season. The Mansfield 250 will mark Lagasse’s 5th NCTS career start.

Lagasse Jr. on Racing at Mansfield: “I am really looking forward to running at Mansfield,” said Lagasse. “It reminds me a lot of what I grew up racing on. It is a good ole’ short track. The thing about short tracks is they look really easy to drive from the outside looking in, but they can be some of the most challenging tracks we go to. Our wreck last week at Lowe’s put us in a bind so we have to work really long hours to get everything ready for the next race.  You will get that a lot in racing though.  When accidents happen to your vehicle and then you have a two day turnaround for the next race, it really puts your guys in a position on getting the trucks ready.  Sometimes they have to work overnight just to get caught up.  A lot goes into building these trucks and I’ve learned a lot from being at the shop and pitching in when I can.  We are working to get back on top of our game. My boss (Bobby Hamilton) is the defending champion of the event so I will some extra pressure at a track I haven’t seen.  It will give me some good feedback though heading into Saturday. We have a test day Thursday, practice on Friday and race on Saturday. I will be ready come race time.”

Long Haul: “Anyone who knows me knows I will race anything with wheels,” said Lagasse. “In fact, I think I have raced every weekend we have been off except one this season and I even tested that weekend. I am always in a vehicle of some sort. I am actually pumped about the nine week stretch we are about to embark on. I am not sure everyone on the team is excited as I am, but I would race every weekend if NASCAR would let us. As a rookie seat time is everything and the more I can get the better. I am confident our performance will improve over the next couple of weeks just because we will be in a routine of being at the track every weekend. It’s a good thing if you ask me.”
