TECH NET/Law Enforcement Torch Run driver Bobby Hamilton snuck in the top 10 in the final 10 laps of the Silverado 350 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday night by passing nine trucks in the last 10 circuits around the 1.5-mile speedway.   

“We had a good truck, but the TECH NET/Law Enforcement Torch Run Dodge was too loose on restarts,” Hamilton said.  “We just bought our time and rode around trying to fix it until it was time to go there at the end.”

• Hamilton qualified his No. 04 TECH NET/Law Enforcement Torch Run Dodge in the 24th position.
• In the first few laps of the 147-lap race, Hamilton radioed to his team that he was, “Just cruising, but it’s a little free at the start.”
• Hamilton pitted for the first time on lap 40.  He entered the pits in the 20th position and after a timely pit stop he reentered the race in the 19th spot. 
• Immediately Hamilton fell back on the fresh tires and full load of Sunoco fuel.  His truck was extremely loose.  Then only a few laps later after the fuel burned off, he started to regain those positions back. 
• The third caution came out on lap 60.  Hamilton did not pit at this time and when others pitted, it moved the Tennessee native up to the 14th position.
• Hamilton remained in this spot until the fourth caution on lap 84.  At this time, the team took advantage of the time out to pit.  Hamilton restarted the race in 16th.
• The TECH NET/Law Enforcement Torch Run driver fell back a few positions once again until his fuel burned off.
• On lap 133 the sixth and final caution came out.  The team had one more set of sticker tires left, so they called Hamilton into the pits.  The driver entered pit road in 17th position and after the pit stop, he reentered the race track in 18th. 
• With 10 laps left in the race, Hamilton picked up nine positions to finish the event in ninth, his 12th top 10 this year.

“We stole that one!” Hamilton proclaimed on the radio after the race.  “I had to take my time on restarts, so not adding gas there at the end really helped.  We pumped the tires up, put them on and I was able to pick up several spots really quickly before everyone spread out. It has been really great to work with TECH NET Professional Auto Service and to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. We had a bunch of enthusiastic fans out here tonight in the TECH NET hospitality tent to back us and we appreciate that. ”

Todd Bodine won the Silverado 350.  Mike Skinner, Kyle Busch, David Starr and David Reutimann followed in the top five.
