No. 4 Bailey's Dodge Timothy Peters Martinsville Race Preview
10-18-2005 | Mt. Juliet, TN

Renewed Confidence: “Oh yeah, I have a tremendous amount of renewed confidence coming into this race. We were able to bring our late model to Martinsville during our break in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series action and we won the Bailey’s 300 which is one of the bigger late–model races of the year. That combined with the fact that we had a great test in Martinsville last week gives me a great deal of enthusiasm coming into the Kroger 200. Martinsville is also the first track that I have had a chance to return to since I started in the NCTS so that helps as well. I am looking forward to going back and improving on our finish.”

What have you learned since your first NCTS start at Martinsville? "I have learned a lot from Bobby Hamilton, how these trucks drive and how do race with people. I feel like I am definitely a better driver than what I was before this season started. The more I run, the more I learn so I look forward to taking what I learned and applying it when we go back to Martinsville. One of the things I have learned is communication and how important it is for a driver to provide as much feedback as possible to the crew. I have also learned a whole lot about how these trucks drive and what they do on the racetrack. What to do and what not to do around other competitors. That is one of the most important things I have learned and it has bitten me a couple of times and I have benefited from it a couple of times. That is one of the reasons I like being at BHR because they do care and they want to run better just as bad as I do. This is like a second family and I am just glad to be a part of it."

Hometown Track: “I can remember how excited I would get when we used to go to Martinsville. It is where the big boys raced and to think I have had the opportunity to race there in the No. 4 Bailey's Dodge still gives me goose bumps. Everybody that has seen me race during my late model stock career and the folks who watched me race at South Boston Speedway will be there. Just being back home at a hometown track with a lot of familiar faces that I haven't seen in a while will be great for me.”

New Look for the No. 4 Bailey’s Dodge-Timothy Peters’ Bailey’s Dodge will have a “Reverse Paint Scheme” for the Kroger 200: “The truck looks really good. It is a nice change of pace, We are still using the Bailey’s colors we just flipped them around. Now everyone will be able to tell Bobby Hamilton’s truck from mine. Basically driving for Bobby has been like living a dream. Last year at this time I was just hoping for an opportunity like this in the NCTS. The Bailey's organization has been great to me through the years and if it wasn't for their efforts and Bobby Hamilton's efforts I would have the chance that I have now. The experience that I have gained will prove to be extremely valuable in the future."
