| No. 4 dsi nexdox Dodge John Mikel Texas Preview 11-01-2005 | Mt. Juliet, TN
England’s John Mikel will take the wheel of the No. 4 dsi nexdox Dodge for next Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. Mikel will be making his inaugural NCTS start but it will not be his first race in the United States. He won the world’s Legends Car title at Sears Point and has run two ASA events, Charlotte and Atlanta, with lead lap finishes in both. Impressions on Texas Motor Speedway: “Texas is a lot like two of the tracks that I have competed on already here in the United States, Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowe’s Motor Speedway. That is On Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series: "These are some of the best oval racers in the world. There are no idiots out here in this bunch. All of these drivers have either been in Cup racing or they are on there way to Cup racing. There is a tremendous group of talent in this division and I’m very much looking forward to competing against them. My goal is a top twenty finish and anything above and beyond that will be a real bonus." Intermediate Track Speed: “We tested at Atlanta and every time we went out on the track we picked up speed. As you get more confidence things tend to slow down for you. At first you drive down into these corners and hope that it sticks. It is quite a daunting task. Then you chuck it in there flat out and it sticks. Every time out you proceed to the next level and you get faster and faster speed wise but everything else slows down for you and you get more comfortable. It is a little like riding a roller coaster, the first time it really takes your breath away from you but by the tenth time you have ridden the ride it becomes old hat.” Event: Silverado 350K (147 Laps) Notes:
