Texas Preview: “Texas is a fast race track. Its reminds me of Atlanta and Lowes Motor Speedway,
but has a distinctive attitude.  Texas is a 1.5–mile quad-oval track and is known for it’s extreme speeds. I experienced it first hand when we were there in June. I was turned right into the wall and felt the force
as I hit. I had a mild concussion and spent the last half of the race in the hospital going through tests.
Thankfully everything was good, but it killed our truck. In fact, that chassis has never been rebuilt because it sustained so much damage. Even though I had the wreck I am really excited about heading to Texas. As a driver you love it because it has lots of grip and you can really choose which lane you would like to run. It gives you options in that it has a low groove and high groove that makes for exciting battles on the track. The guy who wins the race is the guy who can run wide open around the entire track and never lift.”
Texas Test: “The RoadLoans team tested in Texas during our last break. I think it was the most productive test we have had all season. Everyone was focused on the same goal and that was getting our trucks better on long runs. We stayed in race runs all day. I would come in and we would try something and then I would go out and just ride and see what the truck would do. I also made myself try to adapt my driving style to how the truck was feeling. During a test it is easy to say the set up is not good and want to come in and change it, but it doesn’t work that way in the race. We learned a lot that
we applied last week in Atlanta. The truck was running really well when we had a part break. I am looking forward to showing everyone what we learned. I think you will see the No. 18 RoadLoans Dodge up front this weekend. ”
Kip McCord: “Working with Kip McCord this season has been an awesome experience. He is the best crew chief I have ever worked with. Kip is a great teacher and I think his success with young drivers echoes that. He has the ability to teach me and provide me with criticism in a way that I never take it offensively. His passion is making me a better driver and our team a more successful team.
I admire that. He is the type of guy who will work the extra hours to try something new or do research on how to make our truck better at a short track. It has been a difficult year for my team, but Kip has found a way to constantly motivate all of us. He has encouraged me and this team the entire year and I am looking forward to rewarding him with some awesome finishes with three races left in the season.”

Notes: 
· The Silverado 350K will be Montgomery’s 49th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. 
· Montgomery is piloting Angel this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
· The Tennessee native will be making his fourth NCTS start Friday. 
  He finished 33rd earlier this season and 17th in both of last year’s events. 
  He also finished 12th in a Busch series race there in 2003.
