Chad Chaffin qualified his Dickies Dodge in the ninth starting position for tomorrow’s MBNA America 200.  Chaffin’s lap time of 23.733 seconds was faster than he ran in both the morning practice sessions.

“That was a pretty good lap,” Chaffin said.  “We have a great truck for this race.  Since we unloaded, we’ve been strong in the practices and showed our truck was among the top teams here.  It felt tight off of turn two, but we will fix that for the race.”

Chaffin led seven laps last year in Dover before finishing seventh on the Monster Mile.

Carl Edwards won the Pole starting position with a time 23.546 seconds.  Jack Sprague, Steve Park, Rick Crawford and Dave Blaney follow in the top five.
