Bobby Hamilton And Square D Continue Sponsorship in 2004
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series owner, driver Bobby Hamilton and sponsor
Square D announce today the two are continuing their partnership for the
2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. Square D will remain the
primary sponsor of the No. 4 Dodge with Hamilton as the driver.
“It worked out really well last season and so we decided to do it once
again,” Hamilton said. “I want to continue driving as long as I am
competitive and with two wins this year, I see our team as one of the
strongest in the circuit. Square D has been a great supporter of Bobby
Hamilton and I’m one of their biggest fans too.”
Hamilton moved full-time to the Craftsman Truck Series last season after
competing in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series for 13 years. The 46-year old
Nashville, Tenn. native won two races, Darlington and Homestead, and was
credited with three Bud Pole Awards. The veteran driver led over 394 laps
last year before finishing sixth in the closest Championship points race
in Truck Series history.
“Last season was an adjustment from Winston Cup to the Craftsman Truck
Series,” Hamilton said. “We came out of the box strong and ended on a high
note. I look for us to do that again, this time staying on top of it in
the middle of the season. I had my sights set on the championship last
year and I will do the same again in 2004. Dodge and Square D deserve it
and I want to be the one to win it for them.”
Chris Richardson, president and CEO of Schneider Electric’s North American
Division, best known by its Square D brand, echoed Hamilton’s positive
thoughts on the sponsorship. “I'm pleased to announce we are continuing
our partnership with Bobby Hamilton and the NASCAR Truck Series in 2004,”
said Richardson. “NASCAR has always been a very effective way to reach our
target audiences, giving us prime exposure with a key audience and great
hospitality opportunities. In addition, with Bobby as our driver we'll be
a real contender again this year for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Championship. The goal again this year is the championship.”
Hamilton is the owner of three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entries,
including his own Square D Dodge, the No. 18 Dickies Dodge driven by Chad
Chaffin and the No. 8 Dodge driven by Chase Montgomery. The former Winston
Cup Series veteran has four wins to his credit.
