IT'S A BOY!
Cheryl and Bill Lester Have a
Baby Boy
Mount Juliet, Tennessee (March 31, 2003)
- Cheryl Lester gave birth to her and husband Bill's first child on
Friday, March 28, 2003 at 9:09 PM. William Alexander Lester IV weighed
seven pounds, 12 ounces, and was 21 ¼ inches long. Alex, as the child
will be called, was delivered at the Northside Hospital in Atlanta,
Georgia. Lester had been a little worried last week at Bakersfield,
California that he may miss the birth, due to the event at Mesa Marin
Raceway. "I'm just so happy," said Lester. "I just don't know what
to say. There are so many things running through my head that it's hard
to put into words. Everything could not have worked out any
better. I was here with Cheryl and not somewhere racing, and I have a
healthy baby boy. Cheryl is doing great. Wow, what else can I ask for!"
Lester will have a few weeks to spend with his wife and new son before
the next event in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Martinsville,
Virginia on April 12, 2003. "The schedule worked out great for me," said
Lester. "With a few weeks off between races, it will give Cheryl and me
a chance to settle into being parents before I have to get back to
racing again." This is the third child for BHR employees in the
last month. Early in the month of March, Mark Hancock and his wife, Kim,
had a baby boy, and the week before last, Danny Rollins and his wife,
Marli, had a baby girl.

No. 8 Team Adds a Member to
Their Family Mount Juliet, Tennessee
(March 19, 2003) - Marli Rollins gave birth to Olivia Rollins on
Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 8:23 AM. Olivia weighed six pounds, 15
ounces, and was 19 ¼ inches long. Marli is the wife of Danny Rollins,
crew chief of the No. 8 BHR Dodge team that Bill Lester drives in the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
This is the couple's second child. They
have another daughter, Paige, who is 11 years old. "I just don't know
what to say," said Rollins. "This is the greatest day of our lives, next
to the birth of Paige. It's just very special. I would like to thank
everyone in the racing community that asks every week how things were
going. It means a lot. You know we are all one big family. Now we just
have to wait and see what Bill (Lester) and Cheryl have this week." Bill
and Cheryl Lester are also expecting there first child within the next
week. Unfortunately for Lester, he will be on the west coast this
weekend racing in the Truck Series event in Bakersfield, California.
"For Bill's sake, we'll all be hoping that his child is not born until
he can get back from the race," said Rollins. "I know he's worried about
it, but I have faith everything will work out so he can be there with
Cheryl."
