Hamilton has Home Team Advantage in Nashville
"I don't consider us to have an advantage because we are from the
Nashville area and are racing at Nashville Superspeedway. This track is
new to the series. I used to race at the old Nashville Fairgrounds and
have a ton of laps there, but I've only raced at this facility once in a
Busch Series car. It's a very nice facility and I think the track does a
lot to help promote its races there. The local media really does an
outstanding job covering the track's events and so the partnership really
works out. I think we'll have a strong running because we've raced well at
other tracks that are similar to Nashville's 1.33-mile oval this year. We
are looking at every angle right now to keep our momentum going. It always
helps to race at home, it's a good way to build confidence."
Square D Dodge Ram Give-a-way: Ten Winners in the Square D Racing
Drive & Win Sweepstakes will travel to Nashville August 5-8th for a
driving experience they'll never forget. The winners will experience a
private drive-a-long hosted by Square D and Bobby Hamilton Racing and
conclude at the Craftsman Truck Series race on August 8th where one will
win a brand new Dodge Ram truck. They will be VIP guests at the Square D
hospitality where Hamilton will arrive at 4:30 pm, just in time to help
give out the new Dodge Ram truck. The 10 winners will each draw a key from
a racing helmet, and the person with the key that starts the truck will
take it home. The 10 winners are Steve Shields, Dave Buss, Steve Leff,
Jack Aschinger, Wally Schultz, Ron Jannot, Don Luckenbach, Mike Mathers,
David Witherspoon and Troy Jones.
NOTE TO MEDIA: Anyone who is interested in covering this event will have
the chance to talk with Hamilton in the Square D hospitality tent at 4:30
pm. The race track will provide transportation from the media center to
the tent and back. The van will leave around 4:20 pm. Media are welcome to
enjoy the Square D hospitality tent for as long as they wish!
Notes:
· This weekend's truck is the same truck Hamilton raced last weekend
in Indianapolis.
· Hamilton will be signing autographs at the Dodge/Tomar souvenir trailer
on Friday, August 8th from 3:20-4:20 pm.
Third Place finish: "Last weekend's race will set us up for this
weekend. Hopefully we can have another strong finish and keep the momentum
going for the rest of the year. We used Bobby Junior's team to pit our
truck and those Marines did a great job. Our guys worked really hard on
the truck and set it up where I could run in the top five pretty easy. Now
we have to turn third place finishes into wins. But don't get me wrong,
I'm not taking anything away from our team's hard work. I felt like I won
that race last weekend because we didn't have anything go wrong and we
finished in the top five. When I crossed the finish line and realized the
race was over I about got choked up knowing that we were on the right
track again. The Craftsman Truck Series circuit is tough. There isn't a
driver yet that has run away with the championship like they are in
Winston Cup. There is a lot to be said for that. Tough drivers, Tough
trucks and Tougher competition."
