Playing the Odds: Chad Chaffin and the No. 18 BHR Dickies Dodge Team will be playing the odds at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. After a disappointing run last week, Chaffin and the BHR boys will be looking for a little redemption in the city that never sleeps.

"We were just bad last week," said Chaffin. "That is about all you can say. Danny and the boys will get it right for this week though. I have all the confidence in the world in them, and I know they are going to find out what happened last week and make corrections for Las Vegas."

Chaffin and the No. 18 Team currently sit 10th in the driver points standings in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. They are in a fight with Terry Cook, and Matt Crafton for the ninth, tenth, and eleventh places in the points standings. They are separated by less than 100 points.

"We're racing hard to stay in the top ten in points," said Chaffin. "We fell back early in the year, and it has taken most of the summer to get back into the top ten. Now we have to race our butts off to keep it."

Pit Crew Championship: On Thursday, September 25, 2003 from 1:00PM to 3:30PM PST, the finals of the Dodge Pit Crew Challenge will take place at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last year, the No. 18 Dickies Dodge Team won the Pit Crew Challenge over their teammates on the No. 4 Team.

"This is a big deal for the team," said Chaffin. "Being the defending champions means we're the team to beat. It's going to be a great competition. All the teams that made the finals are fast and sharp. It should be a great time for the fans. Hopefully we'll have a big turn out."

Earnings: Chaffin will surpass the $ 300,000 mark in career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series earnings if he can collect $ 6,850 at the Las Vegas 350.

This Week's Truck: The team is racing the same truck at Las Vegas that they ran in California last week. It has two poles this season, one at Kansas Speedway and the other at Nashville Speedway.

Chaffin Quotes

"What a week we've had. After the race in Fontana, we traveled to Sonoma to test street cars for Dodge at Infineon Raceway, and then we will be in Las Vegas. It's been tough being away from home for so long, but we're having a great time. This has allowed me to see a different part of the country and also be exposed to some amazing technology from around the world in the street cars."

"I'll be glad to get to the Las Vegas track after last week. We're going to be looking for a little redemption after our poor run a week ago. I'm expecting to be very competitive this week. Danny (Rollins) will have that Dickies Dodge running great by the time we get to the track on Friday."
