Biggest Race of the Season: The O'Reilly 400K event at Texas Motor
Speedway is one of the biggest races of the year for Chad Chaffin and the
No. 18 BHR Dickies Dodge team.
"Our sponsor, Dickies, is just about 30 miles down the road from this
track in Fort Worth, and they're going to have several people attending
this race," said Chaffin. "So to say that there is a little pressure to
perform is an understatement. We are going to go see them on Wednesday of
this week, and then they will be out to see us on race night. So the guys
and I are going to giving it our all to give them something to brag about
at their home track."
Several of the top executives for Williamson Dickie are tentatively
planning on being in attendance on Friday night at the Texas Motor
Speedway. A few are Senior Vice President of Marketing and Merchandise,
Bob Scott, Vice President of Marketing and Merchandise, Jon Ragsdale, and
Director of Marketing Services, Rick Crosland.
"In one case, I'm looking forward to seeing Jon (Ragsdale) again and in
the other, I'm looking forward to meeting both Bob Scott and Rick
Crosland," said Chaffin. "They all took a chance on me a few months ago
when I became the driver of their truck, so I want to do my best on
Friday."
Appearances: Chaffin will be at the Dickies World Headquarters in
Fort Worth, Texas signing autographs at their outlet store from 11:00AM to
2:00PM on June 4, 2003. He will also be signing autographs in the track
midway area at the Dodge Merchandise rig on race morning, June 6, 2003.
Back in the Top Ten: The No. 18 team moved into tenth place in the
Truck Series points standings after the seventh place finish in Dover.
There are now 110 points separating fifth place from tenth place in the
standings.

Chaffin Quotes
"I've run a few races at Texas, and I've been pretty good. It's a fast
track that has a lot to do with aero and handling. If you can get through
the corners, then you'll have a fast truck at the place. As far as racing
in Texas, I guess I'm a little funny. I love the area. I always have fun
in the area. There is just something about Texas that makes this a big
race, regardless of the fact that our sponsor Dickies is located about 30
miles from the track."
"We're starting to gain a little on the guys in front of us in the points,
but we are by no means ready to be happy with our performance. We've got a
couple of top ten finishes, but this team needs to be running and
finishing in the top five each week."
